White Water Kayak Skills - Rolling and Support Stroke Course

Course Aims:
Skilfully delivered by UKCC coaches, why not join us for a 1 day course as we hit the lake to develop your support strokes and roll.

Whether you’re exploring these skills for the first time or would like to fine tune and improve your existing techniques this one day course is for you! Throughout the day we’ll cover:

  • Fundamental boat set up
  • The beginnings of recovery strokes
  • The Low Recovery Stroke
  • The High Recovery Stroke
  • Develop/fine tune your roll

Our UKCC coaches will be on hand to give you expert guidance with small group sizes ensuring you get the attention you need. Our digital video analysis will give you live feedback on your performance and your action plan will allow you to take these skills forward with you.

Duration:
The course will be run over 1 day. The days normally run from 10am until 4pm.

Pre-requisites:
Candidates should be comfortable with capsizes and eskimo rescue techniques.

Course Price:
£70 per person

Equipment required:

  • Your boat (cleaned inside and out please!), Bouyancy aid, Paddle and Spraydeck
  • Appropriate outdoor cold water clothing
  • Lunch and plenty of drinks
  • You may also find a pair of goggles and a nose clip useful

A limited range of boats and kit will also be available if required.

All of the equipment above can be purchased or borrowed through me but please let us know in advance so that I can bring the right amount of equipment.
