White Water Kayak Skills - Developers Course

Course Aims:
Skilfully delivered by UKCC Level 3 (or Level 5 coaches), this is an ideal course for those that are 3* standard and would like to further develop their paddlesport skills base.

Day 1 of this course aims to develop your skill base and improve on the necessary personal paddling skills and tactics in order that you can safely and effectively navigate on a range of rapids and features on moving water such as holes, eddy lines, develop your surfing skills and all round river confidence. I will be building upon the skills and principles that you already have in place. I'll also equip you with the most up to date techniques available to help your paddling development now and in the future. After which, you will be able to select the appropriate skill and carry them out confidently in a moving water environment to be able to successfully navigate rapids up to grade 3 and lay a solid foundation for moving on to your next challenge.

The second day of the two day courses will consolidate your learning from day 1 and put it all into practice with the support of your coach. You'll also leave with a personal action plan to help support to in your development.

This is an ideal course to get some quality coaching and practice time, tailored directly to your needs.

The course will be run in 1 or 2 day modules. The days normally run from 9.30am until 5pm (depending on time of year).

Candidates should hold the BCU 3 Star or be confident that their ability is of a similar standard and have carried out some grade 2/3 river trips.
