Course Price:
1 Day Courses: £75 per person as part of a group of 2 or more. £150 a day for a day of individual coaching. 

Course Aims:
Skilfully delivered by UKCC Level 3 (or Level 5 coaches), this course introduces you to the thrills and spills of running drops in white water kayaks, picking up countless coaching tips along the way. You'll enjoy a rapid fire day for intermediate paddlers (comfortable on Grade III or above) that will boost your confidence and leave you grinning from ear to ear as I progress your skills in running drops safely and effectively.

Duration:
The course is of 1 day in duration. The day normally run from 9.30am until 4.30pm (depending on time of year).

Pre-requisites:
Candidates should should be comfortable on Grade III or above and have a reliable roll.

Equipment required:

  • White Water Kayak and a suitable paddle
  • Throw line and the usual safety equipment you carry with you on the river
  • Dry suit or wetsuit that will keep you warm throughout the day along with a cag and suitable thermal layers for the weather conditions
  • Food and warm drink (to be taken on the river) and suitable means of carry such as a dry bag, clipped into the boat
  • Dry land clothing suitable for outdoor use.

    • Setting lines on rapids approaching drops
    • Key stroke timing
    • Decision making
    • Mental preparation
  • Rescue Skills
    • Safety cover for running drops

This is a hands on day getting to grips with running drops and can be invaluable for those who would like to take their paddling to the next level.

Notes:

If you normally carry other kit on the river, not listed above, please bring it along for the group to discuss.

All of the equipment above can be purchased or borrowed through me but please let us know in advance so that I can bring the right amount of equipment.
