White Water Kayak Skills - Advanced Course

Course Aims:
Skilfully delivered by UKCC Level 3 (or Level 5 coaches), this is an ideal course for those that are 3* standard and above and would like to further develop their paddlesport skills base in an Advanced White Water environment (Grade 3/4).

This course aims to develop your skill base and improve on the necessary personal paddling skills and tactics in order that you can safely and effectively navigate on a range of rapids and features in an Advanced White Water environment such as drops, slides and grade 3/4 rapids whilst developing your skills and all round river confidence along the way. I will be building upon the skills and principles that you already have in place but I'll also equip you with the most up to date techniques available to help your paddling development now and in the future. After which, you will be able to select the appropriate skill and carry them out confidently in an Advanced White Water environment to be able to successfully navigate rapids up to grade 4 and lay a solid foundation for moving on to your next challenge.

You'll also leave with a personal action plan to help support to in your development.

This is an ideal course to get some quality coaching and practice time, tailored directly to your needs if you're working towards your 4* or 5* Leader qualifications

The course will be run over 2 days. The days normally run from 9.30am until 5pm (depending on time of year).

Candidates should hold the BCU 3 Star or be confident that their ability is of a similar standard and have carried out some grade 2/3 river trips. A solid white water roll would be an advantage.
